Peroutka - Placzek - Rice Trio
In Concert at UNC-Chapel Hill Person Recital Hall, 7:30 pm, April 28, 2015

Chamber Music for Violin, Piano and Cello. Our program blends three giants of the nineteenth-century sonata repertoire with Roman Placzek’s Piano Trio No. 1, “Dream”. We begin with César Franck’s famous Violin Sonata in A Major and Debussy’s magnificent Cello Sonata. The second half of our program pairs the nostalgia of Placzek’s “Dream” trio with the effervescence of Schubert’s Fantasia in C Major for Violin and Piano, composed in 1827, for a performance bubbling over with life, love, and joy.
